Celebrating Gian Paolo Barbieri: the visionary behind Pomellato iconic imagery

Barbieri Event

The legacy of photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri is celebrated at the Milan boutique during Milan Design Week 2025. The exhibition unveils five distinctive photographs showcasing the photographer's pioneering collaboration with the Maison during the 1970s and 1980s. Four black and white campaign images reveal Pomellato's artisanal excellence, while a striking color fashion shot captures Pomellato's revolutionary spirit that defined its unconventional approach to jewelry design during an extraordinary creative renaissance.

Through Barbieri's lens, Pomellato's first advertising campaign "Le Gemelle" (The Twins) embodied this groundbreaking concept, incorporating jewelry with women strength while redefining aesthetic values. The exhibition will run from April 9-18, 2025, at the boutique in via San Pietro all'Orto, 17, Milan. Open to the public daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm, by appointment only, with bookings available through the website.

During last night's private cocktail event, notable guests including Benedetta Porcaroli, Topacio Fresh, and Amina Seck joined personalities from the art and design worlds to experience this photographic journey through Pomellato's visual heritage. From the Art of Photography to the Art of Nudo, the evening marked the occasion to discover the new Nudo collections. Barbieri's timeless images capture the same spirit of innovation that continues to define the Maison's creative expression today.
